Welcome to the Pride! Orientation is where your TCNJ story begins. Every part of the experience is designed to help you arrive on campus feeling confident, connected, and ready for what’s ahead.
Orientation is a hybrid experience, combining online preparation with an in-person day on campus. Whether you’re joining us as a first-year or transfer student, you’ll build connections, learn what to expect, and start finding your place in the TCNJ community.
How Orientation Works
Part I: Online Orientation
Throughout the summer, you’ll complete a series of online modules designed to support your transition to TCNJ. These modules are hosted in Canvas, our course platform and will introduce you to the tools you’ll use in your classes.
Modules begin opening in May, and you’ll receive an email with instructions and details for accessing your TCNJ account.
Part II: On-Campus Orientation
Your in-person orientation day brings everything to life. You’ll connect with other new students, meet faculty and staff, and begin building your community.
During your day, you will:
- Meet your Transition Leader and small group
- Connect with students in your academic school
- Learn what to expect academically and socially
- Start feeling at home on campus
Choose Your Orientation Experience
Your next steps depend on your student type. Visit your specific orientation page for schedules, details, and updates:
- First-Year Students (FY): Learn about your assigned orientation date based on your academic school, detailed schedules, and what to expect throughout the summer.
- Transfer Students (TRN): Get details about your one-day on-campus program, schedule, and transition resources.
RSVP and Attendance
RSVP opens in June. Keep an eye on your TCNJ email for instructions once the form is live.
We know schedules can be complicated; if you’re unable to attend your assigned date, simply indicate that on the form. No need to reach out in advance.
